KXLY 4's Phyllis Stephens at Greenbluff with some tips on growing Strawberries.
is this the guy from office space lmfao
I went this entire summer without any blooms. It just happens that way sometimes. Too much nitrogen could cause it.
I have a strawberry plant that we bought and it is growing beautiful strawberries. Someone told me to watch for the elbows of the plant and once roots start to grow from them that I should cut and replant. Well I tried but that one died
Now I have about 6 more roots growing and don’t want to cut them! Any advice?
i have heaps of strawberry plants growing they are realy healthy and mutiplying like crazy but no flowers or fruit what can i do?
The flowers don’t need the sun! The leaves are gathering all the energy that is later utilized by the flowers, so you should avoid cutting too many off if you do
i have 2 plants growing right now. can i cut the leaves off or will that hurt them. there are a few flowers surrounded and covered by an abundance of large leaves. some seem to be blocking the flowers from the sun. is this ok?
They need alot of moisture.. But.. they like a quick draining sandy soil (prevents root rot) not totally sandy, mix a little potting soil in… mulch on top helps to retain moisture, and stops weeds. I left my leaves that fell last year and we had snow and they loved the protection. I add 1 inch of wood mulch a year to my fruit garden, and use liquid fertilizer monthly thoughout the spring and summer because the fast draining soil… hope this helps…
yes they will grow where it snows. we have a berry farm a mile away from me here in buffalo ny, so you know they can withstand the snow
anyone know if strawberries will grow wher it snows/ nort west america?
where is greenbluff? sandy loam soil is what i have at my place
i planted strawberry pant tday, hope it grows
i love strawberries actuelly im eating some now
