   try tobacco……dilute it in water and spray on plants
   also try soap suds…..

   I used a about 100yo tobacco juice bug spray

   1/3 oz steeped in a gal of water in a T bag (Old Panty Hose)

   Add 1 tbsp of this to a gal of water and 1 tbsp of the old fashioned dish soap

   Plant geraniums in the garden for natural mosquito repellent. Soapy water good for aphids as are ladybugs. Home Depot sells lady bugs this time of year fairly cheap for this purpose. Rock salt around the outside edge of garden keeps out snails. Plant garlic around the outer edges to keep ticks out. Plant Rue around your garden to keep rabbits and deer out.

   For aphids, you can mix a tiny bit of dish soap in water and spray it on them. For many insects, a strong spray of water from your hose will knock them off as well.

   I use white vinegar and water to kill ants, and I assume it would repel them if it didn’t evaporate.

   Search for “companion planting” on the web and you’ll find other PLANTS you can plant nearby to repel insects, like marigolds. I also plant radishes nearby other veggies because some insects like them much better and will eat them and leave the other veggies alone. You can also plant beneficial plants to encourage a pest’s predator to hang out near your plants (again, search “companion planting”).

   vinegar,tobaco,cayenne powder,and water mixed together,let it steep,over 24hours and use the filtered juice in a spray bottle on the plants. good luck!!

   pour boiling water over about 6 large rhubarb leaves in a plastic bucket.Make sure that the bucket is almost full…put a loose cover over top and let it brew for 24 hours.Strain all the liquid and use it in a sprayer ..aphids will die. It works for mine
