when using organic material for gardening ie. guano,and others do you add the n-p-k together(5-2-2 +10-1-1)?

The 3 numbers show you the quantity of each nutrient in the packet. They do not have to add up to any particular amount. You could have a fertiliser that was 10 8 12 or 4 20 0. It all depends what you are applying it to and when.
