Plain and simple it is to hard to airrate. You basically have to turn it over with a pitchfork or something. Because of the hight it is a major strain to your back. when it gets wet the contents is very heavy and difficult to move. Because of the lack of air movement it takes a very long time to complete composting. I never tried a rotating one but from the looks of them they seem to have a much better design. This is nothing but a glorified box i dont see anything in the desingn that would help to speed up the composting process. you are better off getting a big plastic bin or a garbage can and cut the bottom out and drill wholes because that is essentially what this is. do not buy this product.

It is very hard to turn your materials in this composter. It’s labor intensive and hard on your back. I’m 5’5″ and when I take off the lid to turn the materials, my face is right over the top of it and all of the flying knats come up and get in my face. It’s gross. I’m getting a new compost tumbler with a crank handle. This one is going in my recycling bin. Hope this review helps.

So, I just put the composter together, so I realize giving this product 4 stars is not without risk. That being said, the quality of the plastic is great & assembly went smoothly. It currently sells for $39 at Sams Club and at that price, I might be sorry I didn’t buy two.

The product was easy to put together and the finished product is light-weight, but very sturdy. The lower doors are convenient and easily accessed, and the locking mechanism on the top is great to keep out critters. Simply put – great product.

This is my second compost bin. I was looking for one that was big enough to handle all the of the fall leaves. This one is large, sturdy,and stable. It was also easy to assemble, but I had difficulty with the handles. I cannot get them to stay in place. I also know that I will have difficulty turning the pile since the sides are immovable, but I wanted to try a bin like this one becuase it is a definite contrast to the one I have with movable walls. Overall, I am pleased because it holds my leaves quite well and sits unobstrusively in the yard.
