Arrived quickly. Easy to assemble. We put stuff in it every day, trying to fill it. Can’t wait to have soil

  2. I had the opportunity to borrow a family member’s TUMBLEWEED and was very pleased with the results. So….my husband and I invested in our own TUMBLEWEED COMPOSTER and it WORKS GREAT!! In fact, I checked how the compost was coming along today. As I took off the lid, it looked like hot steam flowing out!!! Amazingly, the compost looks so rich and has a wonderful ‘earthy scent’! It is fun & easy to turn. With much rain, the compost began to be too wet. So I turned it horizontally and it helped to dry it to an appropriate wetness. Take time to research hints on composting, using nitrogen and carbon as recommended. Enjoy and see how God designed our Earth to replenish it by recycling nature!!

I bought this tumbler about a year ago. I was very excited to get away from my compost pile and use the cleaner and “easier” tumbler method. Assembly of this product was nice and easy as it took 20 minutes tops. What I should have realized before buying the tumbleweed is the huge design flaw. You load the compost into the bottom of the bin and flip it every couple days…easier said than done. This thing is very heavy to rotate so my 11 year old son can’t run out and flip it for me. When I rotate it, it is extremely heavy and you have to shake the tumbler to get the compost to move to the other end of the bin. It is really strenuous so I replaced it for another center-rotating model that is so much easier. Composting should not be so hard.

You might as well drill a couple holes in a garbage can, put a lid on it and flip it over every other day. You will get the same thing for $10. I gave this two stars because it is quality, just poorly designed.

Very simple to assemble. Rotates very easily. Have not had it long enough to get a batch of compost out of it, but we add to it constantly. The holes in the lid can allow very small grass clippings or coffee grounds to drop out when it is rotated. Easily swept up and is a heck of a lot less work than trying to stir compost in a regular bin.

Works as advertised. Will get heavy and a bit harder to tumble as stuff is added.
